Tom DeTitta is the director and founder of World Communities, a center dedicated to writing and producing nonfiction theater: www.worldcommunities.org His eleven professionally produced plays have been seen by more than a 200,000 people. He has taken on subjects from the fall of the Berlin Wall in Bulgaria to the plight of Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. He is the only playwright to have worked with an American President about his life. He has made a career of finding art in unlikely places, and rallies whole communities behind his artistic discoveries. He works with universities and was writer in residence at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji, Fairmont State in West Virginia, and Georgia Southwestern in Georgia. He brings his unique brand of theater to work with NGOs in furthering and defining their missions, including Habitat for Humanity, the US-Japan Foundation, and the International Diabetes Federation. His plays generate residencies,world travel, and other events.
