Bill J. Adams (DMA University of Miami) is the Coordinator of Performing Arts, associate professor of music and chair of the musical theatre and music programs at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Extensive performing credits range from soloist in Bach Kantate BMV 11 at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland to Loutzenheiser the mad trapper in a professional smash-hit production of Trey Parker’s Cannibal: the Musical. Adams is a Certified Master Teacher in Estill Voice International and has presented singing workshops at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, the Florida Theatre Conference, and the Florida State Thespian Festival.
Bill J. Adams is an Art Song specialist, opera and musical theatre performer, arts administrator, and associate professor. He is a Master Teacher of Acting and Singing with Archetypes as well as Estill Voice Training. Specializing in character work, Bill J. has performed operatic roles (Mike in A View from the Bridge, Mayor in Albert Herring, Vašek in The Bartered Bride, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, Goro in Madama Butterfly) as well as roles in musicals (Ciccio in Most Happy Fella, Loutzenheiser the mad trapper in Cannibal: the Musical, Zangara in Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins). Adams served as principal investigator for the grant-funded, breast health awareness project Facing Forward and he has been the artistic director of the Renaissance City Men’s Choirs as well as South Florida Chorale Arts. Currently, he coordinates the performing arts programs at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
