Tom Fagerholm is an assistant professor in technical direction at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He teaches drafting, stage management, technical direction, structural design for the stage and a variety of other technical courses, including metal fabrication, sound design, and stagecraft. Recent professional credits include Utah Shakespeare Festival, Glimmerglass Festival, and McLeod Summer Playhouse. His research areas include scenic automation, robotics, rigging, and health and safety. Tom holds a Master of Fine Arts in technical direction from Minnesota State University Mankato. Before coming to SIU Tom served as the technical director of the Lackland Center for Performing Arts and the Centenary Stage Company at Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
