Professor of Costume Technology
Lara is the Costume Technology Faculty teaching coursework in Draping, Tailoring, Bias and Stretchwear, Corsetry, Period Dressmaking, Couture Technique, and Management. They are a professional Draper/Tailor recently returning to teaching after five years with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Lara has worked as a Draper / Tailor with the Santa Fe Opera since 2006. Since 2013 Lara has functioned as Technology Advisor to the costume apprentices at the Santa Fe.
Prior to working with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Lara was the Draper and Costume Technology Instructor with Indiana University Bloomington. Lara is proud that many of their former students from their time at Indiana University now hold professorships and / or professional positions nationwide.
Lara holds an MFA in Costume Production from Boston University and a BA in Theatre Performance with Teacher Licensure from Greensboro College in North Carolina.
