See the list of ExhibitorsMany a tech rehearsal or overnight call has been fueled by the imbibe of Mountain Dew. As only SETC does in bringing you to the very best places, we have brought you to the Tennessee home of Mountain Dew!
Tennessee bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman developed the drink as a mixer in the 1940s, having had difficulty obtaining their preferred soda to mix with their whiskey. “Mountain Dew” was originally Southern and/or Scots/Irish slang for “moonshine.” The original bottle was made to look as though it was a bootlegged beverage like those made in mountain stills. Mountain Dew was first marketed in Knoxville and Johnson City in 1948.
